About the Plant
This palm is commonly called the Kentia Palm, but is more properly a Howea palm named after Lord Howe Island.  It grows naturally only on that group of islands in the Tasman sea, but was transported around the world in Victorian times.  It is a favourite of the Interior Landscaping industry as it is a hardy palm, that can withstand both high light and low light areas, as well as cool and warm environments.  It is, however, subject to attack from Red Spider Mite and Mealy Bug.
